As of the end of February, reports from Ground Observers Eastvan Girl and Steamer are looking very promising.  Our LaFarge eagle pair have been seen bringing in new sticks to the Pandora Street nest, digging around in the nest bowl and perching on their favorite branches close by.  At least one, if not both, has been observed trying out the nest bowl for size.

When a stray eagle, or crows, or some other intruder has the audacity to venture too close to the nest tree, Lady and Pa have been quick off the mark to respond with appropriate defensive calls and even go so far as to escort the offender out of their territory. All these actions are “eagle signs” of spring, a time for nesting and maybe even a chick or two to come!  Dare we hope?
