TERF16 (formerly TEUS03)
TERF16 was originally tagged as TEUS03 on January 8, 2019, after spending about 6 weeks at the OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society facility in Delta, BC, recovering from wounds from another female (TERF03). We followed her travels around the greater Surrey/Delta area until July 24, 2019, when she perhaps started North – and her tracker stopped sending data. Fast forward to fall 2021, when two female eagles were brought to OWL to be checked out after being in a fight – and one of them had the non-functioning tracker TEUS03! She was released November 5, 2021, and this page is for her recent travels. The map of her travels from 2019 is here – we’re making her new adventures a separate map because she was very busy in 2019 so the lines are quite dense. I don’t think she was banded in 2019, but she is now – her USFW band number is 0709-00330 and she has a more readable blue band on her left leg with the characters K over 9.
Please visit our Hancock Wildlife Forum thread for more information about what TERF16/TEUS03 has been doing.
Thanks to Myles Lamont and the folks at OWL for the photo of TERF16 in 2021.
