TERF28 (tracked since 12/31/2022)
TERF28 is an adult female bald eagle who was tagged before being released on December 31, 2022, by the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (OWL) in Delta, BC. She had been rescued from the area near the UBC campus in the northwest corner of greater Vancouver after a fight with another eagle. Her USFW band number is 0829-01884 and she has a more readable blue band on her left leg with the characters X over 2.
Please visit our Hancock Wildlife Forum thread for more information about what TERF28 has been doing since then – and to see additional photos of her!
Myles Lamont took this photo of her shortly before she was released – she may have had some comments about being banded and equipped with a tracker!
Updates
As of March 1, 2023, she’s been spending quite a bit of time at the Vancouver Landfill, but has made at least two trips back to the UBC area.
